Lets talk about TEXTURES while styling.
We love them; they can define the character of a space, they are what makes a room pop. They are what take a fine design into the realm of perfection.
It is definitively hard to think about textures in a vacuum, th
at´s why we have to think of them as an integrated part of a concept.
There are two types of textures:, VISUAL and TACTILE.
Visual are wood and stone; they have their own natural graining and veining and they are inherently rich, Tactile include fabrics and carpets, Just think about walking bare foot through a fluffy carpet.
Textures combined with colors or other elements such as light or, reflections can have a different feeling if you make them interact with each other. You can be amazed at what you can create when mixing opposing textures: glass and stone, sparkle and mate. Consider the placement of textures as you go about designing your space. Putting a smooth texture directly next to a rough one will make the rough object stand out more and seem heavier than if you space them apart. Rough textures are more likely to make a space feel intimate and grounded while smooth textures bring a sleeker more reserved tone to the space.
